AC Surge Protective Devices

AC Surge Protective Devices

    Scope of Application

    SPD is suitable for all kinds of low-voltage distribution systems with grid voltage below 1000 volts and frequency of 50/60HZ, such as post and telecommunications, railways, financial systems, oil fields, high-rise buildings, houses and office buildings. To protect the electrical appliances (such as computers, instruments and equipment, household appliances, etc.) of these power users from lightning strikes, transient overvoltage and other surge overvoltage damage. Ensure equipment and personal safety. It is an ideal overvoltage protection device.

    Main structure and working principle

    In the three-phase four-wire system, protectors are connected between the three phase wires and a neutral wire to the ground wire (see the figure below). Under normal circumstances, the protector is in Levin state, and when the power grid is subjected to surge overvoltage due to lightning or other reasons. The protector will be quickly turned on in nanosecond time, introducing surge overvoltage into the earth, thus protecting the electrical equipment on the power grid. When the surge overvoltage passes through the protector and disappears, the protector returns to the high resistance state again. So as not to affect the normal operation of the power grid.

    Feature

    1.Using internal wiring, the whole structure is compact and the installation and grounding are convenient.
    2.High-speed reaction, operation time less than 25ns
    3.The working status display is obvious, green (normal) and red (fault).
    4.Additional functions can be added, such as acousto-optic alarm (B) and fault remote communication contact (X).

    Normal working conditions of SPD

    1.The altitude does not exceed 2000m:
    2.Ambient air temperature: normal range: -5℃+40℃, extended range:-40℃+70℃;
    3.Air relative humidity:30%--90% at indoor temperature;
    4.The inclination in the vertical plane shall not exceed 5.
    5.Where there is no obvious shaking and impact vibration.
    6.There is no explosion hazard in the medium, and there is no gas and dust (including conductive dust) enough to corrode metals and destroy insulation  in the medium.

    This series of surge protectors are installed by standard top-hat installation guide gauge, and the following points should be paid attention to during installation.
    1、The connecte wire is 2. 5-16mm² flexible wire suitable for that flow rate; Hard wire 2.5-25mm²
    2、A fuse or an air switch should be connected in series at the front end of the protector.
    3、Turn off the power supply during installation.

    Maintenance
    1、After the protector is installed as required, it can automatically protect the power grid without adjustment.
    2、When the sign is green, it means that it is working normally; when the sign is red, it means that the current module has failed and should be replaced in time.
    3、Check the module every six months and replace it in time after failure.
    4、Always check whether the air switch or fuse connected in series on the line is normal.

    Service scope of warranty
    1、It' s made in the original factory
    2、The damage is caused by the quality problem of the manufacturer.

    The following conditions are not covered by the warranty
    1、Man-made damage
    2、Damage caused by natural disasters such as floods and force majeure;
